I have learned so much on my journey to finding me, which is an on going journey, but I’d like to correlate the process of planting a seed & watching it grow to an individual ready to grow & pouring into your own pot ( you are the flower).

I found an article by health line called “five easy houseplants to love based on your mental health needs” by Shawna Davis. I think this is so important because mental health is nothing to play with and I learn that lesson over and over again in so many different ways so I’m hoping this helps you guys understand that we are delicate/ deserved to be cared for like a flower/plant but we’re also more powerful & impactful than us ourselves may think.

Plants can literally act as a reflection of how you are treating yourself & your growth process. Lets keep in mind, this takes time and work for both things to truly show progress.

Foundation : funny story, so I actually remember I bought six plants like really tiny ones and I brought them over to my moms and I was trying to figure out how in the world do I plant like what do you do first so the soil came in this like hard round like circle block thing and then the seeds came in like a separate little pack and so I was like which one goes first and so the first time we tried it my mom put the seeds first and then the soil over it and then we were like hold on so when we read the directions that joint said put the soil in first and then put the seeds and so the moral of the story is : yalll, make a good foundation for your life. First, find out who you are write down a list of who you are, who you want to be and stick to that because you need a solid foundation to grow a healthy life and a healthy plant. I literally have a list in my phone where I remind myself who I am. For instance, I will say I am competent, I am giving, I am thoughtful, I am considerate, I am beautiful, and so when I come into a situation that may try and get me out of my foundation I go back to it and I’m like all right this is who I am regardless of the situation that’s trying to change my mind about me, I know who I am.

From there, you can continue to grow and pour into yourself by intentionally, listening to helpful positive podcasts, spending time with God, surrounding yourself with good people that also pour into themselves, try new courses, learn !!!!

I also took the liberty of listing the plants & their attributes:

  • Aloe Vera : Aloe vera and you: During the repotting process, you may have to trim away any dead pieces that are no longer contributing to its growth. You sometimes have to let go of who or what may be stopping you from thriving.

  • Lavender : Known to decrease anxiety and providing a calm atmosphere. Helpful for sleep!

  • Peace lilies : symbolize peace, prosperity, purification, and solitude. Because peace lilies have such powerful symbolism, speak positive affirmations to your plants. Speak as if you were talking to yourself!

  • Snake plants, This plant helps to purify air. I would think of this as clearing the air, through hard times you have the option to grow from whatever situation you’re in, and you could also say a plant that could encourage you to speak up.

  • Eucalyptus : For those who need a reminder to appreciate the present and what the day will bring.

Moreover, from a mental perspective having a plant has been proven to reduce stress, boost mood, enhance productivity, and creativity, and improve air quality.

But y’all if you think about it on an outside perspective: if you take care of a plant, that joint will come out looking bomb but if you don’t that joint will look dry & dead, and so same as taking care of you, if you’re getting you’re sleep, talking to yourself positively, using time management to make sure you are not overwhelmed, drinking lots of water and more, you will physically look and feel better!

So lets recap, you are plant - plant is you.

Take care of plant - you take care of you

You water plant- you drink water and so on !
